Terms & Conditions

Simple terms for using Kaleidoscope MX. This text is a starting point and should be reviewed with a legal professional before production use.

1. Who we are

Kaleidoscope MX is a web application that lets you create and explore mind maps and progressive disclosure maps for personal knowledge management.

2. What these terms cover

These terms explain:

  • how you may use the Kaleidoscope MX website and app,
  • what you can expect from the service, and
  • what we expect from you.

3. Beta status

Kaleidoscope MX is in an early, evolving state. Functionality may change, break or be removed at any time. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not promise that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.

4. Accounts and access

  • You may create an account using email/password or Google OAuth.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • You must be allowed to use online services in your country of residence.

5. Your content

Content includes any text, images, links or other material you add to your spaces.

  • You keep ownership of your content.
  • You are responsible for the content you add. Please do not store anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • You grant us a limited permission to store and process your content only for the purpose of running the service (for example, storing data, showing it to you in the app, and creating backups).

6. Free and paid plans

At the moment, only the Free plan is active. Planned paid plans and limits described on the website are indicative and may change.

  • Free plan: one private space, up to 100 nodes, simple content types.
  • Future paid plans may include more spaces, more nodes and integrations.

If and when paid plans are introduced, additional terms about billing and cancellations will apply.

7. Acceptable use

Please use Kaleidoscope MX in a reasonable way:

  • Do not try to attack, disrupt or misuse the service.
  • Do not attempt to access other users' data.
  • Do not use the app for spam, abuse or illegal activity.

8. Changes to the service

We may change, update or remove features at any time, especially while the product is in active development.

We may also change these terms. If changes are significant, we will try to highlight them on the website.

9. Ending or suspending access

We may suspend or close accounts that clearly break these terms or cause technical or security problems. Where possible, we will try to contact you before doing so.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Kaleidoscope MX is provided without any guarantees. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for:

  • data loss,
  • loss of business, or
  • any indirect or consequential damages

You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important information stored in the app.

11. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, you can contact the project owner via the contact details provided in the app or on the main website.
